One letter amiss,one feeling too short
and the black words try to hold my day hostage
Their wind blows away my golden desert sand
into minute pecks of nihilism,an absurd storm
that brings on the black into my mail

Every word is behind me, black and white
I have no sand in my shoes as I climb onto
a new rainbow of wild flowers each day
the crow I shot at sight without a regret
I slit the throat of that absurd bird and
with one hand alert I pluked it of all its feathers
filling the pillow of the devil, fat

It was but another crow with a devious message
the embers of my laughter burnt
the insipid words so hot and so right.
the smoke at last sends me the signal
that time has come for me to walk away.
